As the most powerful country economically in the Western world, seekers of capital naturally turn to this country as a source of funds, advice, and technical and managerial skills. However, it must be remembered that all of the developed nations do export substantial amounts of capital, both to each other and to less developed countries, and a complete analysis of international constraints would have to include these countries as well. In discussions of international business activity, it is not often considered that the United States does have some significant constraints on such business activity, but they do exist, and our problem here is to consider how these constraints affect the internal activities of firms in international business.

In 1989 Eric Drexler and his wife, Christine Peterson, moved to a house in Los Altos, California. They were then president and secretary-treasurer, respectively, of the Foresight Institute, which they'd set up in 1987 to keep researchers current in the nano field.
